Venice may conjure up images of romance, beauty and wealth but under its glistening skin there lies a history of misery and torment. Fuelled by three visits of the plague, a bout of cholera, forced drowning, unexplained suicides and preying vampires, there is a very sorry tale to be told.
Yvette Fielding and Paul O Grady dove deep into the lagoon of death in an attempt to raise some of Venice’s most tortured and lost souls. They recounted the ghost stories they had heard, went to the vampire island of Lazzaretto Nuovo, floated above the ominous Orphan’s canal and finally embarked on to one of the most haunted islands on the planet, Poveglia. It has witnessed countless victims who died from the plague, entertained another wave of disaster when cholera struck, and even more shocking legend tells us, it played host to the crude and deranged experiments of a twisted doctor. Yvette and Paul set foot on this abandoned island, where no-one dares tread, and unearthed the dark secrets hidden amongst its undergrowth.

Antix Productions are making a series of fly-on-the-wall documentaries about the professional and personal of the highs and lows of Paranormal Power Couple Yvette Fielding and Karl Beattie. The 5 part themed series follows on from the ratings success of the first two programmes, Living With Yvette and Karl and In Bed With Yvette and Karl which were made for and broadcast on Living TV in 2008.
The first doc incorporated a Hello shoot, their final Kerrang radio show and Yvette’s 40th birthday party. The latter covered the trials and tribulations of Yvette’s operation, Karl’s night out at a boxing event and Yvette’s emotional return from surgery to presenting 7 nights of Most Haunted Live.
Possible highlights of the upcoming series, to be broadcast in June, is Yvette and Karl celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary: Karl surprising to Yvette by proposing to her all over again; Yvette getting a personal stylist and personal trainer to give her a make-over before embarking on a hilarious ceremony in Las Vegas with an Elvis impersonator.
We will also see Yvette and Karl busy at work juggling their radio and television commitments with the 13th series of Most Haunted, the 8th episode of Ghost Hunting With…and Yvette’s celebrity appearances on the Ant v Dec segment of Saturday Night Takeaway. Those and much more...
